World Trade Centre Montréal management team constitute suppliers that are wholly invested in the environment and sustainability. This is clearly reflected in our environmental management policy, and their Level 3 BOMA BESt certification.

The World Trade Centre Montréal Ruelle des Fortifications qualifies as a community minded supplier. Many of our own suppliers are non-profits. Also, Ivanhoé Campbridge, which owns and manages World Trade Centre Montréal, has a sound training and pay equity program that is well documented.

Give preference to reducing, reusing and recycling audiovisual equipment

Although the equipment used during events sometimes belongs to other suppliers, the Ruelle des Fortifications is designed with several types of reusable lighting and connection equipment, both permanently installed and portable.

Energy management is a priority for the World Trade Centre Montréal, as the on-site presence of COFELY GDF SUEZ, a prominent player in this field, attests. Some of our recent projects in this regard have been the installation of a backup boiler and the conversion to a more efficient T8 fluorescent lighting system.

Implementing water saving measures

BNQ requirement 5.3.4

We have decided to progressively replace outdated plumbing fixtures within the building. Sinks with water-saving devices and low-flow toilets and urinals have already been installed, and progress in this respect is ongoing. These devices comply with the water efficiency requirements of the U.S. Green Building Council and the Canada Green Building Council.

You will have access to the equipment and facilities required to recycle a wide range of materials (paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and aluminum).

Leftover food can be donated to several nearby charities, such as Accueil Bonneau and the Old Brewery Mission.

Our waste management system covers several hazardous substances and materials: paint, batteries, fluorescent tubes and other lighting equipment.

We provide a recycling system for a variety of waste and can help you characterize the waste resulting from your event by providing you with the appropriate areas.

The World Trade Centre Montréal Ruelle des Fortifications is located less than a 5 minute walk from a metro station, bus stop and train station. Our indoor parking is equipped with facilities for cyclists (bike racks, showers and locker rooms).
